Bollingbroke bent down, spun the wheel on the hatch, stuck his head quickly through and back to make sure the corridor was clear and then clambered throughy the Jeffries tube access port on to the corridor at 28-2 Forward.
He moved to put his back against the futher bulkhead, phaser rifle held level at his shoulder, he scanned the corridor again and signaled the rest of his team to join him from the hatchway. The three Marines took up similar positions and were joined by the Security Officers and the K-9.
Their breath formed in front of them in the cold, the dog panted gently and was surrounded by a thin mist.
At the next junction aft there was a hum and flicker of the force field which sealed off this section of corridor.
There was one small storage compartment here, then several cargo bays to work through as they moved aft.
Bollingbroke activated his throat-comm. "Team Seven to Team One. We're at 28-2 Forward. Clearing Storage Locker 28-16."
"Copy that, We are on Engineering level 21-alpha," replied Harry as he knew that this Gorn had some talking to do, that was until they got hold of him. He continued" Just be careful,"
"Roger that" Bolingbroke signaled his Marines, one approached the door, the other two aimed their rifles at it and waited for it to be swung open.
The first Marine reached for the handle. With his other hand he held up three fingers, dropping them one by one.
Three...two...One... and opened the hatch
The other two moved in, rifle muzzles swung back and forth as they scanned the compartment. Besides two storage cases it appeared empty. One stepped in to check behind them.
He stopped and gestured for the K-9 Handler to bring the dog in.
"Got something eLTee!" he said softly to Bollingbroke
They had been searching for over six hours, so far there had been no sign of the Gorn Doctor. The only possible hint of his presence had been a couple of open Jeffries tube hatches up on Deck 25. But nobody was really sure if they had been locked before.
There had also been a some odd scratches around a locked storage bay on Deck 26, but again nobody was really sure how they may have been caused.
Bollingbroke entered the compartment and looked behind the cases. There was a couple of blankets and a small pile of emergency rations, the kind found on escape pods. Several of them had been eaten. but most telling was the device laying on one of the blankets - a medical tricorder!
The K-9 handler brought his dog in to check it out. Stevens had provided all of the dogs a sample of the Gorns clothing before the search began.
Lieutenant Simmons said, " Come out Doctor, I have a Dog," as he let the lead go so it could do it's job, he continued as he knew that Thor would take no prisoners.

Iria was watching the sensors as she kept an eye on the teams and trying to pin down the Gorn Doctor, with as cold as it was in that area if he was in there he should have been frozen stiff. What had her annoyed was that no sooner had she gotten the internal sensors online and functioning properly, there was a massive feedback surge, through out the system and she had to start all over again.
It meant that someone was actively helping the Gorn Doctor stay hidden. Which was what bothered her the most. Who in engineering would betray the ship and crew and risk countless others? She had no idea but once he was found, secured she was going to bring it up with the Chief of Security and the First officer.
"I am showing nothing there but your team Lieutenant Bolingbroke, if he is in there, he is hiding like a chamaeleon." she said over the com-line that had been given to the teams in the form of ear pieces; so they would not have to broadcast their presence. If the Gorn Doctor was listening to general coms.
[Bridge]
Juan gripped the console in front of him as he watched the operation progress on the screen. He'd been monitoring events since the beginning, growing increasingly frustrated along with the searchers as deck after deck was cleared with only the faintest potential traces of their elusive quarry.
[Deck 28]
"Team Seven copies" Bollingbroke looked around the compartment, it was not very big, besides the two cases and the makeshift bed there was nothing else there, certainly no large male Gorn.
"He's not here, but he was" He said "Team Seven to Team One. Come on down here, we might have something!"
"I'm on my way," replied Harry as he looked at his team, He said," Keep looking, I'll be back shortly," as his team gave a nodded to him, he motioned Sif to follow him to where Bollingbroke's team was and wondered what they had found.
Bollingbroke turned to Simmons "Can Thor get a scent trail to follow?"
"Dam right he can," replied Simmons as he bent down to the side of his German shepherd, he said " Find him boy," as he let him off of his leash so that he could sniff the room for a scent trail. Within seconds he had one and started heading off towards Section 28.
"Simmons to Stevens, Thor is taking us to Section 28" as he knew that his boss would make his way there.
Bollingbroke signaled his Marines and they fell in behind the K9, weapons at the shoulder, covering the corridor ahead .
[Engineering]
Iria swore out loud as the internal sesnors finally cleared up and she got a really good look at the team in 28-16 "Head's up team seven, there's a very large yet slow movement in section 28-19 backing away by the looks of it!"
"Roger that Engineering, we have a team heading that way now" replied Harry overt the com channel, he continued," But keep me informed of any changes," as he started to run with Sif in tow.
[Deck 28]
"Copy that!" Bolingbroke's team arrived at the end of the first corridor. The Force Field crackled and hissed in front of them. Beyond it lay three further corridors and a bank of cargo bays, four on each side, with the center corridor of the three running down the middle of the bank. "Engineering - Drop Field 28-6 we're ready to pass through"
There was a fizzle and the field disappeared. Reappearing after they moved through. Bollingbroke checked his deck layout PaDD, there was a cargo turbo lift just around the corner. All lifts had been deactivated for the search but Stevens could use it to reach them if Engineering turned it on for him..
"Team Seven to Stevens. We'll meet you at Cargo Turbolift Two" Bollingbroke said into his commbadge "Engineering you copy?"
=/\= Copy that Team Seven,=/\= replied Harry as he looked down at Sif who was taking some water that had been placed in the lifts for the dogs, as he knew they needed a drink every so often whilst on duty.
[Engineering]
"Yes, and ready." Iria replied as she kept watch on the sensors tracking Stevens' team and Bolingbroke's and the large slow moving thing that should be shown but since she figured he was using s type of dampening field to confuse the sensors she just had to make her best guess.
[Deck 28]
A few minutes later the lift doors opened on Stevens and his dog.
"Three corridors, eight cargo bays" Bollingbroke held up the Deck plan PaDD, where you want to start?"
"We will start in Cargo bay 1 and work through them one by one," replied Harry as he knew that the more they had and now with two dogs the Gorn Doctor didn't stand a chance.
Bollingbroke nodded. The cargo bays all had two doors, Bays One through Four opened to the outer corridors on the port side; bays Five through Eight opened to the Starboard side. Then all eight bays had a second door that opened into the center corridor, which ran between the two banks.
He looked around at the personnel available, now with Stevens and his dog there was eight of them, they could cover both doors at once and open them simultaneously. "So two Marines, plus a Security Officer and a K9 unit at each door" He asked Stevens. "You want to be in the center corridor or outer ones?"
"I'll take the centre, but keep coms open," replied Harry as he didn't want any surprises nor did he want to have to give an explanation as to why they haven't found the rouge doctor as of yet to the Captain.
Bollingbroke took his team to the designated door of Bay One and got in position, the Security Officer ready by the door controls to open it, the dog strained at it's leash and Simmons held on tightly. =/\="We're ready, call it!"=/\= He informed Stevens at the other door.
=/\=Go, Go, Go=/\= replied Harry as the doors to the bay opened, Harry said to his team "Keep your eyes open boys and if you see Sif move follow her and protect ," as he knew that she was his dog but she was also Starfleet and she knew her duty.
Sthilg was as silent as possible. He contemplated making a run for it, yet that would be too loud. He decided that staying put was the best way. He thought he smelled another scent, like that of an animal. He opened his medpack and sprayed himself with something that would decrease his scent.
With her head down, Sif started her search for the Gorn doctor as she walked around the huge bay followed by her human companions who were ready at a moments notice to protect her, Sif suddenly stopped and sat down in front of a huge box.
Harry noticed that Sif had stopped and motioned to his team, He said "Doctor Sthilg, we know you are in there come out with you hands up or I will send in the dog."
Sthilg remained still with a hypospray, awaiting the dog.
At the other end of the bay Bollingbroke's team opened the door. The bay held a large number of containers, rising in stacks to nearly reach the ceiling. There were so many that they did not have a clear view of the other end of the bay.
Two Marines swung their rifles to and fro as they cleared the doorway. The canine was pulling at it's leash and straining to get into the bay.
Bollingbroke signaled the team forward and they advanced in a line with the dog in the center. After a few steps they reached the first of the containers, Bollingbroke looked around it. As he had feared, there was no way through, the bay was packed with containers. He could hear Stevens calling to the Doctor from beyond the pile.
Eventually, Sif was let loose and Sthilg tightened, awaiting the dog to get closer even though the barking did not dissipate. Sthilg kept calm as the dog stopped and continued barking. In a swift move, Sthilg stuck the hypospray to the dog. It was filled with a pharmaceutical cocktail that overwhelmed its olfactory senses, essentially the feeling of inhaling lots of spicy chili powder.
Off Sif ran.
[Engineering]
Iria was biting the inside of her bottom lip as she watched the movements of the teams and their target, "Movement in Bay six coming your way team seven!" Iria said in hurried tones. The Gorn shouldn't have been moving so quickly and she was certain it wasn't one of the canines.
[Cargo Bay]
Sthilg decided to go in the opposite direction, doing his best to evade his pursuers through a jefferies tube. He opened a hatch and just moved as fast as he could.
Engineering
Iria swore louder as an alarm sounded, "Jefferies tubes hatch open 28-65b if that's not your teams?" She retorted as she tapped the control panel in front bof her trying to get a clearer signal and visual,
