Sailors fighting in the dancehall, look at those cavemen go - http://hawaii.bravofleet.games/index.php/sim/viewpost/62

Federation Diplomat Lesai and her detachment discussing with Hawaii Diplomatic Detachment upon arrival at Bre'el IV about an incident:

Dran chewed at his lower lip for a few moments. "Let me talk to them. I have plenty of experience from Bajor. As you may know, I was a proponent of Bajor joining the Federation, and an ambassador afterwards. I've had to talk to media from similar...situations...involving personnel from Deep Space 9. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?"

Kloy, the Betazoid narrowed her eyes "The worst that could happen? Well the dissidents here can push this out to effect Bre'el public opinion, which could be swayed against the Federation, putting pressure on the Central Government. Who could then decide not to provide us with the transport ships, that you in Starfleet, urgently need to help repel the Gorn incursion.

"That then leads to a prolonged conflict that we are not currently able to deal with effectively. This then makes the Federation look weak and defenseless, prompting other hostile species to consider similar incursions.

"Beyond that, this could potentially bring down the Central Government. The dissidents will undoubtedly make as much propaganda from this as they can, most likely increasing the dissention and negative opinion of the Federation among some of the citizens here, regardless of the Central Government.

"Which leaves the Federation in a precarious position. A fundamental element of membership is a united and unified planetary government. We do not choose fractions or take sides in internal conflicts. Whenever that has happened in the past the outcomes have never been good, for the planet or the Federation as a whole.

"So the worst that can happen - the foolish actions of a couple of Starfleet personnel have the potential to take Bre'el out of the Federation completely and lead to further attacks on this sector..."

Lesai let her aide speak. She added "While I am not quite so passionate in expressing my opinion, I share my colleague's concern about the potential seriousness of this incident."

Dran forced himself to keep his voice, tone, and actions even, as the last thing he wanted was to anger anyone. "And last time I checked, none of you have any experience preventing evidence of incrimination from getting out to the public. Unlike you people, I do. Therefore, the best course of action is to let me try."

Hoping to head off the brewing argument in front of him, Juan cleared his throat and injected himself into the conversation. "Ahem...Regrettable as this incident and the ensuing fallout may be the situation is still very much fixable. It may be important to consider worst case scenarios, but I do not believe we are in one at the moment.

You have me at a disadvantage

Zamora meeting Radun for the first time:

Dran was standing off to one side of the room, it was easy to pick him out of the many people in the room. His uniform was severely out of regs, since the uniform jacket was open, and the commbadge affixed to the front of the undershirt.

One look at him said a man used to the finer things in life, he held himself not like an officer, but like an Ambassador aboard a visiting ship.

Rounding the corner, Juan stopped short as he took in the sight of an unexpected stranger among his staffers. This day was just packed full of surprises. No one was acting strange around the new officer, so Juan guessed that he was supposed to be there, even if there'd been no forewarning.

Project Hammerhead - The Idea -
http://hawaii.bravofleet.games/index.php/sim/viewpost/76

Kosu and Tachibana talking about development of a new torpedo:

"I can tell you are dismissive of these measures by your eyerolling," Akio gently corrected the junior officer, "However, what you just said sounded as much like Klingon to me as the next officer not wearing yellow. Additionally, considering the nature of Research and Development, it will be important to keep your project under wraps. I do not need the Hawaii to be an even bigger target for our adversaries."

Deeli put her left hand on her side and her right finger on her lips as she stared a bit outside. "Adversaries...we do need some target practice..." She muttered as she tapped with her right foot on the floor, "I like your thinking Commander..." She pointed her right finger at him, "Did not see you were that cunning, but I approve...I will keep it 'Secret'" She gestured with both her fingers in the air and winked at him. "Well if that is all sir, I would like to get to tactical to get...Lieutenant...Fell..Foll.." She struggled with the man's name and closed her eyes trying to think of it "Filly? No, maybe Fichy..." Deeli opens her eyes and looked at the Commander. "That Security dude? Lieutenant Finky I will get his permission for a torp," she smiled.

"I am serious about the classification of this project, Lieutenant," Akio stressed. "His name is Fallon. You should remember it as he will be in charge of monitoring security protocols, not just handing you a torpedo." Akio paused for effect. "Please, take care not to blow our ship apart. Dismissed."

Diplomacy, Bureaucracy, and Headaches -
http://hawaii.bravofleet.games/index.php/sim/viewpost/82

Secretary of the Exterior Magnus Temple discussing his schedule with his assistant, Ashra Scaro:

"What time do you start tomorrow?" She asked, casting an eye to her PADD for the time.

"I want to go for a run in the holodeck then I'll have a meeting with the Captain first thing." Magnus answered, as he finished off his water. "Was there something we had lined up for tomorrow?"

"You have a scheduled subspace conference with the Bajoran Ambassador at six-forty-five." Ashra reminded him gently.

Magnus groaned, "Yeees. Why so early again?"

"Because the Ambassador is on New Bajor." She responded, "And they're coming to you to propose that New Bajor houses the Federation's Gamma Quadrant affairs bureau."

"Right, right." Magnus nodded, "I understand they want to promote New Bajor as a stable colony after the war, but the Department of Trade wants the Bureau closer to somewhere with better mining resources. Defence, of course, wants it somewhere less tactically vulnerable, in case anything happens again. And I'm pretty sure Agriculture had a suggestion, but I think it was just a quid quo pro with Interior." He stared to fear his headache might come back.

"So we're telling the Bajorans no, then?" Ashra suggested lightly.

"Of course not." Magnus smiled back sardonically. "We'll take the suggestion under advisement and when the Scouting committee opens up the location for tenders, they will be invited to submit a proposal. Then we have the Viability committee, Federation senate hearings, and final approval from the President."

Ashra laughed, "Wouldn't it just be easier to say no upfront?"

Magnus shrugged again, "Of course, but that's not the diplomatic way of doing it."

Lesson in Pain -
http://hawaii.bravofleet.games/index.php/sim/viewpost/111

GySgt Sejanus & an Orion marine, Sharad-Har, before sparring:

"So Gunny, are you ready to taste some pain?" The large Orion said, taunting his smaller opponent.

"Words fall from your mouth like shit from ass. Halt tongue from wagging and fight!" The smaller human replied, a vicious smile forming on his face in anticipation of the fight. Gaius stepped up to the Orion and assumed a fighting stance.

Departures - http://hawaii.bravofleet.games/index.php/sim/viewpost/112

Federation Secretary of the Exterior Magnus Temple discussing the possibility of peace with the Gorn with his assistant, Ashra, referring to the last Gorn War:

"Maybe we should have done more after the end of the war to help them? Maybe they wouldn't be looking for revenge now?"

Ashra thought about that for a moment and shrugged, "I suppose. But we were very busy with other conflicts at the time too, the Federation didn't have the resources to prop up the Gorn and defend our borders too."

"There will always be another conflict." Magnus stated, "There's always some species wanting more power, or land, or retribution for prior conflicts. It's the Secretary of Defence's job to prepare for war, it's supposed to my job to prepare for peace. I'm just conflicted on how I'm supposed to do that."

Magnus shook his head. "I came on this tour to ask questions and find answers, but so far I'm just getting more questions."

Sombra just looked up at his roommate, and head-tilted. "Whuff..."

Beating the Bounds -
http://hawaii.bravofleet.games/index.php/sim/viewpost/143

LT Cassidy searching for ENS Stevens:

That didn't stop him from asking around on where he could find the assistant, rather than Winchester, because he fancied being listened to instead of getting his head bitten off and this would go a lot better if he could woo an ally in the department.

LT Cassidy on LTJG Cortez:

"So you know that during the meeting with the Wyoming senior staff, she sided with Captain Carson. And that's why she wound up in the Brig. Now, that was a rubbish situation. No easy right or wrong; Carson was the ranking officer, Tachibana's our Skipper, and Carson seemed to be in the wrong, but who knows? It's all politics. I wanted to find out why she did it."

Tea Time Talk - http://hawaii.bravofleet.games/index.php/sim/viewpost/144

CDR Tolkath ending conversation with LTJG Taltos:

"Good day Lieutenant" he said and turned to leave

Iria smiled cheekily, "Feel free to call me Iria if you're inclined."

"I am not." He replied with Vulcan bluntness, but not rudeness.

The Disappearing Doctor - They seek him everywhere - http://hawaii.bravofleet.games/index.php/sim/viewpost/149

Exchange between ENS Ruk, OPS, and CDR Zamora, XO, during the Search Briefing to find the missing Gorn Doctor

Arthur slammed his fist on the table loudly. "Gorn. Why was one allowed on the ship?!"

"The Lieutenant was allowed aboard because he was a Starfleet officer in good standing." Juan said flatly, crossing his arms. "There was every indication that he would be able to carry out his assigned duties effectively. Furthermore Mr. Ruk, I would expect you, of all people, to understand the importance of judging individuals by their actions, rather then their heritage."

Befriending the Boss (Back Post) - http://hawaii.bravofleet.games/index.php/sim/viewpost/145

LT Kosu, CHENG, upon meeting LTJG Taltos, ACHENG

"I tinker with everything that is related towards engineering and the development of it. I design new models and implant them on my own terms" Not looking at Iria "So if you find things that do not belong there or are unknown to you, do me a favor and don't touch it" Looking over her shoulder towards Iria "If you try to find me...try a Jeffery tube, I am crawling through them to fix things or ...upgrade them"
