Sliding her fingers over the console as she assigns another damage control team to a certain area. Deeli was wondering why Akio wanted her so badly on the bridge, she might have been useful on the surface as the space battle was in their pocket anyway. Deeli waited for the command team to arrive at the bridge as she kept her distance to other officers, going into social short talks was a pain after all.
Akio entered the bridge for his shift and quickly directed the crew to carry on at the announcement he was on the deck. His gaze fell on Deeli working at the engineering console and a faint smile could be noted as he continued towards the center seat.
"Mr. Tolkath, are we ready to launch the probe?" Akio asked.
"I have six Class Four probes lined up ready for launch on your mark Captain" Tolkath replied from the science station.
"Fire two probes, Commander," Akio ordered. "OPS, standby on alert fighters. TACSEC, ready weapons. CONN, be ready for evasive maneuvers."
"Ayr Sir" Tolkath tapped his panel "First probe is away" Two minutes later he launched the next "Second is away"
"Standing by, Skipper," Cassidy confirmed from Helm. His concern wasn't immediate evasive manoeuvres unless something went really wrong, but rather navigating in cohesion with the rest of the battle group if something was going to come out of the metaphorical darkness at them. For that he had his sensor uplinks to the other starships ready.
Nila was more than happen to just be back on the ship, focusing on her task she held her finger over the button that would let the fighters know to launch as soon as possible. "Ready Captain."
"Tactical ready Captain," replied Harry as he had taken the shift over, he continued as Sif had taken her usual position next to the Captain whilst she was on the bridge, he continued "Tubes locked and loaded Sir," as he looked over at the Captain, he finished," Just give the word and I'll et the thunder go,"
No sooner had the probes launched, a transmission came through.
"On screen," Akio ordered.
The screen flickered, yet an imposing Gorn appeared and began speaking. The audio was de-synced as the translator took a beat to translate.
"This is the Gorn vessel Rends with Teeth, we surrender and request a meeting to discuss terms."
Akio was taken aback. He knew the ground battle was fierce, yet he at least thought that the Gorn would have put up more of a fight.
