In Sickbay -back post-

Location: Sickbay
Timeline: few days before the Mine infiltration team and rest of current events.

-Sickbay-

Quinn walked in through the main doorway she had been on the night shift but with the new assignments within Sickbay she found herself on her first day shift. She had been getting used to the routine at night but she was there to learn not get stuck on a pattern. She smiled at the new Chief Medical officer, "Good mornin'!"

T'Lara looked to Quinn smiling at her. "Pleasant morning to you too miss McCoy. You are here to learn things. I will be here to guide you. Do you have any questions before we begin."

Quinn nodded softly, "Aye, do Ah, still help wi' Lt. Kosu's monitorin'?" she didn't want to be missing a duty if she was supposed to be doing something else.

"I just took on the case of Lieutenant Kosu, so yes, that is still on the agenda," T'Lara said. "In fact, I may need you to do some things in regards to the Lieutenant. I want to run some more tests on her." She handed Quinn a pad. "Here is a list of things I need. And I would like you to prep a medical lab. I am sure you know how to do that, right?"

Quinn accepted the PaDD pocketing it carefully, "Ah jus' finished wi' orientation on medical lab prep affore joinin' the Hawaii." She was glad to be doing more of what she recently trained to do.

"Very good," T'Lara said. "Do that now, and then we can prepare our patient. Let me know when you're done."

Quinn nodded, "Aye Doctor, or would ye prefer Ah address ye by rank o' somethin' else?" she asked before she started to head to the medical laboratory to set up.

"Doctor is adequate, miss McCoy," T'Lara. "Let me know when you're finished."

----Some time later----

Quinn walked out of the lab after double checking everything was ready to a set of tests, data collection, and everything else that could come up during such lab work including clean up of dropped samples. "Lab 2 be ready, Doctor T'Lara." she said lightly.


T'Lara had been studying a PaDD and put it down at the mentioning of her name. She got up. "Excellent. I will get the samples we need. Can you make notes of our progress, miss McCoy?"

"Aye, no problem." Quinn said with a grin. She didn't mind taking notes it was all learning. Even the small tasks.

T'Lara went up ahead to the medical lab. She found everything was in order. She nodded as she handed Quinn a tube. "Now, miss McCoy, can you prepare me a test sample with this blood." She could do it herself, but she wanted to let the young apprentice try something.

Quinn took the tube carefully and turned to the sample kit and set it up before she extracted a sample from the tube and set it aside and looked to the Doctor, "Wha' now Doctor?"

T'Lara placed the sample under the microscope and set it while she looked at the screen that lit up. "Interesting," she said. "Certain protein markers are missing." She pointed to the screen. "Do you see that? Their iron and calcium are low, but I do notice the CK level are a bit high. Not dangerously, but looks to me as some kind of controlling." She looked her PaDD. "I wonder what these implants are used for. I have never seen these before. At least not in a human."

"Taken from folk the Gorn were testing from Wyoming Aye?" Quinn asked looking at the Chief Medical officer.

After another few hours of working on the implants and data gathered the results and further questions were forwarded to Science for further views and information digging up.
