Hammerhead - The tweaking

Location: Engineering - sealed area
Timeline: Current

The room was sealed off for anyone under Lieutenant Junior Grade, a tweaking error in Deeli daily busy schedule. It was meant to be accessed by Lieutenant or higher and specifically towards certain departments. Working however in the room was a large standard torpedo open and disarmed. At the desk was a small box of a forcefield with something in it that was hitting the side every now and then. Deeli was tweaking on some board on the desk with a lamp on it. '

Iria walked in and paused a moment before she spoke up, "Kosu? I wanted to let you know I got through the stack of backed up paperwork and sent off the transfers and requests the new personnel." she grinned softly as she continued, "If you want some help with that I have the time?"

Humming a bit as Deeli did not notice Iria one bit. She tweaked over some panel that was used for the control of the torpedo. The sparks came from her side as she tried to reconnect some pathways on the said board. The torpedo should stand out for Iria as unusually as it is modified to act as something that could take a punch. The head was redesigned and laid next to the torpedo to be modified.

iria gave a wry grin and watched a moment longer before she moved closer and to the side to see exactly what Kosu was working on for making modifications to the torpedo. She handed over a tool as Kosu reached for it. "How long have you been working on this one?"

Taking the tool and looked at it for a second, letting her eyes slide to her side for second and looking back at the torpedo and using the tool to expand the power grid a bit further "Two weeks, could have finished this if it was not for all the permissions and asking stuff" Deeli replied as another spark goes of her panel "What brings you in a restricted area Iria?" She said a bit bitter.

"Wanted to see if I could help and let you know that the paperwork is all caught up for last month and this month." she said with a cheeky grin. "It wasn't locked out." she added.

"It was..." Looking behind her at the door and sees the unlock modus "...locked...heh" Deeli swore she had locked it and rubs her head a bit and looked at Iria "Well it is no secret now is it, its a new torpedo design for Hawaii and maybe beyond"

"i can help if you let me but if you would rather I not just say so." Iria said softly, as much as she wanted to help if Kosu whom obviously did not enjoy working around others often did not want her there she would not intrude, "I mean you are the boss down here anyway. I can edit the lock so only you, and command team can enter on my way out if you want?" she offered lightly, it wasn't like there wasn't other stuff she could be doing but helping out in new stuff was always interesting to Iria but she would rather not upset the person whom she was working with if it could be avoided.

Looking at Iria that was standing there and let her eyes for a few seconds locked on Iria. Then turned towards the torpedo and spoke "Computer Kosu Lock active" The room seals off as Deeli slides her hand over the metallic framework of the torpedo "Hammerhead, that is the name. It is a reverse borg tech actually" Looking at Iria again "The head has no explosives, but function as a drill and shield frequent destablizer. The idea is that hammer passes the shield, drill partly into the hull and releases the Nanos that is in torpedo middle component. When that happens, the nano-cloud will eat the hull away from the target it hits" Her head turns back towards the torpedo "However the hull damage is only about 3 meters in diameter and can reach out till 3 to 4 meters. So how deeper it gets, how dangerous it is"

Iria gave a small whistle of surprise, "That is impressive but I am guessing this isn't for dealing with, Gorn ship's? As far as I know there's been no Borg that were Gorn or if there was, no one has mentioned it in anything that I have seen." Iria walked a careful circle around the torpedo that Kosu had been working on. "If you're willing to let me help I am sure we can get more of these ready in under two weeks time." As much as she wanted to help she wasn't doing anything without express permission.

The woman did not get the drift and merely looked at the tunnel vision, oh well Deeli did not expect much for starters and lets go a breath of disappointment looking at the torpedo "Technology is strange, unknown and fun" She lets her hand slide over the metal "It can be detached, refined, destroyed, created or improved...think bigger than you now do Iria" Deeli said with a soft smile and yet did not look at her assistant. "You were spot on regarding the Borg, but their knowledge, Daystorm Institute. Was the mere foundation that created this new tech..." Deeli did not reference towards her tech as a weapon "...To lose a battle is not be ashamed off, but learn from it and adapt to win the next" Deeli said in her own wisdom, finally looking at Iria "This creation will deal with any enemy that Hawaii faces..." Looking at her side towards the metal frame of the head and points at it "Get that to perfection that it can drill into a hull, you got one week not two"

Iria smiled cheekily she loved a challenge and the chance to work on new things, the added challenge to make improvements within a time limit was definitely something she was ready to dive into. "Good thing I don't sleep much!" She was mostly certain she could pull off at least one within the time frame Kosu was giving her as along as the regular repairs stayed on track and there were no surprises. "Do I need to request more parts or do you already have those aside?"

Seeing her assistant grab the challenge with full energy made her smile a bit "Good, I will be working on programming the nanos" She turned around and sat down at her workbench bringing up three holoscreens "Use anything you need or want to use Lieutenant, let your mind go lose and enjoy ride creativity" With that said she tapped away on the screens.

"Okay Kosu." Iria said delighted and she looked over the tornado then she picked up some tools and dove in. This was going to be epic. She was certain of that. She set a reminder for herself to check on the status of repairs then focused on her new task...
