Mission: Ka Hakaka Maikaʻi - The Good Fight
Location: Gym, Deck 3
Timeline: 1/17/2389 - A Bit More than an Hour Before the Second Battle of XFY

[Junior Officers' Mess]

Jenny scanned the tables around her, searching for her target with keen eyes. A few moments of looking, and she spotted a conspicuous braid in the crowd, bingo. She moved over and set her tray down next to the young security officer. "Mind if I sit here?"

Arthur looked up at the female who just seemed to appear at his table. "Uh...sure."

"Thanks" Jenny offered brightly, sliding into her seat. Pausing only for a quick sip of her drink before launching straight into conversation. "So, I hear you were part of that big dust-up on Bre'el."

Arthur raised an eyebrow--a rather human expression he realized--before speaking. "If you mean the incident between me and Cortez, yes, I was. Why?"

"Fantastic!" Jenny was grinning from ear to ear by now. "You're just the man I was looking for. You see, my boxing partner just bailed on me. Can you believe it, he says I'm too intense!? So, that's when I remember we have a Klingon on board. I figure you've got to be interested in a challenge, or at least a good chance to blow off some steam. So, what do you say?"

Arthur smirked, "when and where?" He then added, "I'm warning you now, I fight like a Klingon."

"Exactly what I wanted to hear" she said with an emphatic nod. "Meet me in the gym on Deck 3 tomorrow at 16:00 on the dot, I'll be waiting." with that she abruptly turned back to her food and took an enormous bite out of her sandwich.

Arthur smirked, and made a mental note to make sure he met with her there.

[Gym]

At 15:59 Jenny stood waiting next to the ring that occupied one corner of the training space, a set of pads over top of her athletic gear, and with a helmet and pair of gloves waiting off to the side. She was chatting idly with another Knight who had been 'volunteered' to referee.

Arthur entered at a slight jog, the normal excitement in his eyes replaced with almost a carnal bloodlust. This was how he scared opponents, the carnal bloodlust of Klingons combined with his human physiology.

Jenny waved as she saw the figure of her new sparring partner approaching, stopping as he drew closer. "Well... you certainly look ready," she said. "Have you boxed with Terran rules before?"

"Terran rules? Are those the ones that outlaw dismembering?" Arthur smiled, hoping to ease the statement.

Jenny's brows knit together, and for a moment the note of play left her voice. "That's the general idea" she intoned. "We've both got jobs to get back to when were done here. So, do you need a refresher or not?"

"No. I don't, thanks though." Arthur said, smiling.

"Great" Jenny replied, brightening up again. She tossed a pair of gloves, a helmet, and the rest of the protective gear to Arthur in quick succession. "Suit up and meet me in the ring." She said, clambering up between the ropes.

Arthur caught the gear deftly enough to not embarrass himself, before suiting up and climbing--which turned out more like getting tangled in the ropes and then falling--into the ring.

Jenny stood in her corner, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she warmed up, jabbing the air and dancing about in place. "Let me know when you're ready, then the ref can get us started." She gestured with her head toward the Knight standing by the side of the ring.

Arthur jumped to his feet with a growl and nodded. "Let's go!"

"Great!" jenny put in her mouthguard and stepped to the center of the ring, knocking her gloved fists together in preparation. The referee met them in the center of the ring and gave that standard introduction "I want a good clean fight..." Then the bell rang and the contest began in earnest.

Arthur moved forward, throwing a left hook. He had to constantly remind himself to fight fair, and not slam her head into a wall.

Jenny danced out of the way of this first attack, staying light on her feet, and then answered with a quick jab of her own.

Arthur took it without flinching, answering with a jab himself.

Jenny had been expecting a dodge, in her surprise, she let the return strike through and took it square on. Recovering, she backed off, keeping her distance from her opponent.

Just as the two were about to exchange jabs, a chime sounded and an announcement filled the room =/\="Lieutenant Lassonde to the flight deck, your presence is required as soon as possible."=/\=.

As the two unfroze, Jenny awkwardly slunk over to her corner of the ring and began stripping off her gear. "Sorry, it looks like I've got to run, you win this round I guess, I'll have to pick this up when I get another chance."
