Mission: He ho'omaka hou 'ana - A New Beginning
Location: Intel Office - Deck 14
Timeline: Before Away Teams Deploy

Walking towards the intelligence area, it was a section that Deeli was not allowed in is now invited to. It was her moment to get to check the equipment and see if everything was in shape. The downside of this all, social interaction with people that are in the room. Deeli took a deep breath and walked into the office seeing people with black colored suits on "I...I am looking for the Chief?" She said on a quiet tone and rolled her eyes.

A crewman glanced up from his desk and whatever it was he was working on, and pointed towards an office.

"Lt Thomas is in there. Let me buzz her." He hit a button, and a female voice replied to him. "Ma'am, you have a visitor? Okay... You can go on in" he said with a smile.

In the office, Gee signed out of what she was working on, and stood, smoothing the wrinkles out of her uniform. Being Orion, she was a lovely shade of green, with blue eyes and red hair, a rather striking combination over all.
"I'm Lt. Thomas" she introduced herself. "Welcome to the spook cave."

Looking at the Orion, Deeli gulps and mutters to herself that she needs to rename her Engineering also to something else "Lieutenant Kosu, Chief Engineer" She shortly replied a bit awkward standing there and rather wanted to leave, but Deeli did not have any excuse "We had to work together on the sensor ranges and weapons capabilities of the Gorn? I do wonder what the latter had to do with me..." Shaking her head.

"Well, you're the technical expert, along with--" Gee started before the comm buzzed again.

"A LT Salmon is here to see you, ma'am," the crewman announced.

"Send him in," Gee replied.

The Quim scurried through the door.

"S-sorry I'm late. I got caught up with some experiments and lost track of time! I'm LT Quim," the otter-like scientist held out his paw to Deeli.

Looking at the Lieutenant and at the paw as she shrugs and softly touches it to shake it 'That feels soft' Deeli noticed and looked at him "Lieutenant Kosu....here per order to check the Gorn sensor ranges and weapons capabilities."

"Yes, yes. Quite interesting stuff!" Zim said as he shook Gee's hand next. "Do you have any intel reports on the latest Gorn ships and weapons?"

Gee stared at the otter, unamused. "Unfortunately, no. Despite our best efforts, as you know, reporting was very spotty. From what I can tell though, Gorn ships still use a disruptor based weapons system and their ships, which were already heavily armored, have increased their defense systems."

The Quim nodded. "As I suspected as well. In the intervening time span, a civilization like the Gorn would likely focus on warfighting after the destruction of their capital city. Without any additional information though, I don't know if we can make any assessments regarding specific weapons capability or sensor ranges. Any thoughts, Chief Engineer?"

Leaning against a console as she was already bored about the subject, she heard her job and looked at Quim "I would not really know, my expertise is the engineering part. I would require the data that we ....don't have," Deeli pointed out the obvious "But ... going out of theory facts, we might be dealing with low developed ships. Their capital and thus their government has collapse...well do your math how long things will take."

Gee nodded, "There are some assessments and conjectures that the Gorn did utilize their low developed vessels as well, almost like a swarm pattern, while keeping their highly capable ships as heavy hitters. Almost as if they were Federation vessels."

It was that suspicion that Starfleet Intelligence was suspect of leaks. Plus the fact the Gorn were able to blindside the Federation with their attack.

That piqued her interest a bit as Deeli remembered a vague report, "Was Xavier not attacked by an unknown source?" Deeli looked up to the ceiling, "I believe I saw a report pass about the Sovereignty or whatever those hipish names are...supplied the Gorn?"

Gee looked into the eyes of Deeli. How did she know about these reports?

"There is a minority report with that assessment, yes," Gee confirmed, "However, I have not seen any other reports or evidence."

Zim's whiskers twitched as he watched the exchange. He was not sure what was going on aboard the Hawaii, yet it was the first time in a long time he felt like he didn't know anything about the subject at hand.

Hearing the thoughts of Gee, Deeli choose not to react to it "You want a theory on how they beat Federation sensors that are by the way top notch as far as I know." Deeli pointed out as she pushed herself form the console, "Cloaking is the only credible answer. If they are getting support from the Klingons, which for a fact are not that great in technology development ether, however are quite effective developed in weaponry and in theory would supply the Gorn..." She lets the Chief Intel finished it up.

"Yet there's no evidence as to why Klingons would help the Gorn. Unless it was to commit a proxy war, yet again, without any proof, that's a big leap. If we're dealing with cloaked Gorn ships, then we're really in trouble," Gee commented.

Zim's whiskers twitched even more.
