Mission: He ho'omaka hou 'ana - A New Beginning
Location: USS Hawaii
Timeline: 24 Dec 2388

Jason Kage emerged from the teleporter and saluted. "Permission to come aboard." he asked the Starfleet warrant officer standing near the console.

"Granted," came the automatic response and returned to the PADD in his hand. That was when the doors slid open and Gunny Melota stepped inside. Tall, imperious, attractive, and more dangerous than a squad of marines, she smiled and saluted.

"Captain Kage," she rasped and looked amused at the nervous looks she always earned from all,

"Gunny Melota, you look dangerous. You're my top kick?" He asked as they left the transporter bay and headed for marine country.

"I am. After that last duty, I knew you would not survive without my protection. Keel is also present, haunting the armory and frightening all the troopers." Melota replied, a laugh in her tone.

"What would I do without you, Melota? In any event, we're raiders now. Light work compared to the last few times we operated together. Still, Delta will be tight. Anyone else we know in the ranks?" Kage asked.

"A few. Nobody I would cycle out the airlocks, yet. Still, there is time." Melota replied, saluted again and they went different directions.

Kage chuckled as the powerful Klingon went off her own direction. She was one of the best, a future Sergeant Major if there ever was one. If they could survive the battles last year, a raiders company would be a good fit.

"Time to be a Marine again." Kage thought, dropping his kit in his room.
