A bit of Spice (back post)

Location: Taltos quarters, Marine land, Bolingbroke's office
Timeline: Prior to the Battle of Canterra IV

[Deck 5 - Officers Quarters]

Iria hummed as she stepped out of the sonic shower, she had a long day ahead of her but she was in a very good mood if only for the fact she was planning to share a secret with some folks she trusted. There was a lot of work to be done ahead of time though and she had gotten lucky with pulling up some records from replicator choices and a few favors turned in to get information from the lounge manager as well.

She got her uniform on and settled the pips on her collar, she still wasn't used to the sight of the full Lieutenant pips on her own collar, she was used to going down in rank by now but somehow she'd actually risen in rank. Was it a good or bad thing was the question? She shook her head as she braided her hair and made a face at her own reflection in the mirror. As she headed out she paused to grab one thing extra. The Nu Nu's spice she had promised for Edward Bolingbroke. He had enjoyed her cooking and asked for the spice to add to the ration packs for when he and his Marines were away on missions.

[Deck 22 Marine Command]

She dashed out her doorway and headed down the corridor and after the lift ride she paused a moment before greeting the Marines on duty with a cheeky grin, "I have a small gift for Captain Edward Bolingbroke, may I bring it to him or do I need to leave it with you fine gentlemen?"

The two sentries came to attention when the Starfleet Officer arrived with the slightly unusual request. "Er .. yes Ma'am, you can go see Captain Bolingbroke. " One said, "Bravo Company Administration offices are around the corner, second door on the left, Ma'am" He pointed the way.

Iria gave them her signature cheeky smile as she said her thanks and walked down the corridor to the indicated office.

The pair watched the cute short auburn headed Engineer with the unusual eyes as she made her way down the corridor and exchanged a grin.

[Deck 22 Bravo Company Admin Offices]

Bolingbroke was talking with his Admin NCO when Taltos arrived. He looked over to the opening doorway.

"Iria, hello!" He smiled "What did we do, overload the replicator's coffee and tea circuits again?"

"Hello, Edward, no I haven't heard any complaints for replicators overload." Iria said with a smile that had a bit less cheek but still showing off her dimples and her eyes twinkled brightly as she answered his question.

"I brought that spice I promised and wanted to wish you a good day." she held out the small container of Nu Nu's spice towards him.

"Oh, well thank you," Bolingbroke smiled and took the offered container "Come on in." and led the way back to his office. He pointed her to a chair and sat at his desk.

He popped the lid off the container and gave it a sniff. "Smells good!" he grinned.

Iria smiled brightly showing off her dimples fully to him, "Just don't get any in your sinuses or eyes trust me it's awful." She retorted as she sat in the offered seat, "It will definitely add some kick to your rations."

"Ration enhancer and potential do-it-your-self battlefield incapacitating powder!" Bolingbroke grinned "What's not to like"

"Thanks for this" He put the lid back on and set the little tub down on his desk "And thanks for your hard work on converting that Gorn shuttle by the way" He continued.

Iria smiled, "You're welcome for the spice as for the work on the shuttle I wasn't alone but I will pass along the compliment to the rest of the team. It was a fun challenge to be sure, I had more fun in working on the armor conversion repairing the flamethrower and missile launcher." She replied as she regarded him. "Would you be interested in helping me with a puzzle on the holo-deck tomorrow?"

"A puzzle?" He asked

Iria nodded lightly smiling, "Yeap, I need a second opinion on the possible solution and I think you'll have a good imput." Plus how else was she supposed to keep the surprise a surprise without careful word choice?

"er… yeah ok. I'll be there." Bolingbroke nodded with a smile "Gonna have to be after Twenty-Hundred hours though, we are pulling fourteen hour shifts right now."

Iria nodded, "That's fine I will get out of your hair so you can get back to work."

Plus she didn't want to risk spoiling the surprise by sticking around and she as more than certain there was plenty of work that needed to be done.
