Mission:
He ho'omaka hou 'ana - A New Beginning
Location: runabout en route to the USS Hawaii
Timeline: December 20th, 2388
~as scribbled in short hand in Old High Bajoran~
Personal log, Nimh Ahressa - December 20, 2388.
Day has been weird since the start. Feels like I've repeated the training for this assignment for far longer than the past twenty days. On the plus side, I feel I know this 'regular' version of me a lot better now. Still, going in under cover after the incident in July in another hot zone is dangerous at the very best of times.
The Venture crew had been vetted a LOT more easily than it has been vetting this one. The crew they got assembled is...sketchy at best.
The Gorn CMO - inviting trouble, just by having him there.
The kid from the USS Redguard with complexes up to the Celestial Temple.
The green rookie...seems like a decent kid, but, Prophets, who put her in charge of a department?
The humanoid otter is the Chief Scientist?? What???
The Klingon...as Chief of Security and Tactical. With the civil war on within the Empire with the Soverignty of Kahless...I can actually understad the Fleet wanting to keep the Klingon officers away from the direct hot zone.
Not to mention Tachibana himself.
Prophets, I am going to have my work cut out for me and I will need your insightful guidance as I carry out my role...for who knows how long.
Khalfani seems to believe a reliable asset is needed in the area, due to so many conflicting reports on what is and has happened in the Cestus and Canterra sectors and with the Xavier Fleet Shipyards. She is also wanting evidence of suspected Klingon involvement. What with the SoK events lately, confirming or denying said rumours, it is deffinitely an important bulletin on mt list.
Makes me wonder if it was because of the rookie that I was assigned under cover to be able to focus on the gathering rather than doing actual fieldwork? Or because she is a rookie?
Whatever the case, I will need to vet her and the Gorn thoroughly to ascertain their allegiance, viability for assistance et cetera.

"Lieutenant Ahressa?" A young voice called behind her.
The young bolian pilot was swivelled in her chair facing the bajoran's back.
"My family name is Nimh, Ensign. Ahressa is my individual name." Ahressa sighed as she closed her little red book and put it into her duffel bag. She gave another long suffering sigh, more to make the young woman feel guilty and teach her a lesson than anything else.
She hadn't really been offended, she was too used to people butchering her people's names and traditions so she had long stopped really caring. That didn't mean however that the fake Ahressa didn't care. Hence the drawn out sighs and melodramatics.
"S...sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean to offend." The bolian stammered, "it's just..."
"I know, I know," Ahressa waved it off as she put the duffel bag casually aside and stepped forward in the runabout that was ferrying her to her new home for Prophets knew how long. "We have a special way of doing it...I know." She finally cracked a smile at the kid.
"Sorry..." the pilot swivelled her chair back.
"It's alright, kid." Nimh exhaled as she slipped into the co-pilot's chair. Why does it feel like I've done this before?
In the distance, they could see the silhouette of the Providence Fleet Shipyards. More specifically, the silhouette of the USS Hawaii.
"She's gorgeous, isn't she?" The bolian grinned as she looked upon the sovereign class.
Ahressa nodded, "she's beautiful, sure. Would you believe I still love the Korolev the most?"
"Korolev? That is an oooold class." The pilot chuckled.
"What is old is not necessarily useless, kid. They were few, but they held their own." It was almost like the Resistance. Few, but packed a punch. Perhaps it was that that endeared the Korolev to Ahressa, though she never really served on one. Perhaps it was that endearment that would sell that particular story if ever asked?
"True..." the Ensign nodded, "true. Quartermaster reports the Commander's aboard."
Nimh nodded, "alright. Update them on our ETA and request a meeting time with Commander Tachibana and myself."
"Yes, ma'am."
"Hanyu, ilani. Ja choleyn Ahressa..." Nimh murmured in bajoran as she leaned back in her chair, letting herself take in the undeniably majestic view.
