Present for Physical
Posted on 28 Jan 2019 @ 11:50am by Lieutenant Junior Grade Matsius Amur, M.D. (Jan 2389 - TRSNFR After Gorn War) & Lieutenant Commander Iria Taltos
Mission:
Ka Hakaka Maikaʻi - The Good Fight
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: 3 days after Second Battle of Xavier
Iria walked into the Sickbay which was for once rather quiet, it had been very hectic over the last few days and between one thing and another Iria had missed her summons for getting her physical done more than once. She brought in some fresh muffins from the lounge manager's kitchens as peace offering as she walked. The warning that she would be hunting down if she did not make an appearance had her arriving before her shift, bearing gifts.
"Hello?" she called out lightly, honestly hoping to catch one of the doctors in a good mood but if not well she would get her part done and get the hell out of there as soon as she could.
Matsius nodded to a nurse that walked away as he walked into the main sickbay and saw Iria standing there "Well hello beautiful, what can I do for..." He sees the basket of muffins and blinks "....you? Picknick?" He was a bit confused.
Iria looked up to meet his gaze, why was everyone on this ship so damned tall? She laughed softly her cheeky grin brightening to a full smile, "Ah now that's not the welcome I expected but I won't complain, these," she held up the basket of fresh still slightly steaming muffins, "are my peace offering for being late to report for my physical." She took a firm grip on the basket with one hand and offered her other hand to shake, "Iria Taltos, one of the many engineering officers and bad about keeping track of proper time." She said honestly though she was glad she hadn't come across the grouchy individual whom threatened to have her dragged into the Sickbay, over the comms.
Taking over the basket o muffins and smiled as the smells hits his nose and looked at her "Thank you, take a seat..." He motioned with his head towards a biobed as he placed the basket down on a table "Engineering you say, well had a few in here that last battle" He shrugs and looked in the direction of a certain room "Yea..." He shrugs and walked towards her biobed to pull up her records "How.... how are they doing without... Lieutenant Kosu?"
Iria nodded, and literally jumped up on the biobed, part of the joys of being under five feet tall, where others could just hop up, she had to jump. She eyed the room that was Kosu's and her smile whilted a bit. "We are doing okay but we're looking forward to having Kosu back. She keeps us challenged that's for sure." She and a few others were looking forward to seeing Kosu back the few that didn't had been pointedly reminded of how they should be glad to know someone with as much heart and skills as Deeli Kosu. Iria also had a chat with the ones that had been snidely towards the CEO, telling them that jealous envy would only poison their work. If they wanted to do better they had to learn to see past their differences and challenge themselves. She also told them that if they didn't get counseling before Kosu came back she would be making some transfer requests on the plan to have only open minded creative team working with Kosu when she was back to duty again.
In the meantime Iria spent her time divided between her work, getting more Hammerheads ready, brief visits with Kosu, and fun. No matter what was going on Iria found a way to have a bit of fun.
Starting the bio check on Iria's body as Matsius spoke "Her coming back is still uncertain, I.... we are doing everything we can and she is fighting it" He said with sadness in his voice "But more I can't tell, the Captain pretty much restricted me from saying anything in regards of crew moral" He finished his scan and checked over the data and nodded as he walked to her and placed his hands on her knees feeling slowly around them "Just keep smiling, that is the most important thing you can do for your team Lieutenant"
Iria nodded, "I have faith in her and you lot here in medical besides never over until the fat lady sings!" She blinked at him as his hands rubbed her knees, most folks didn't touch her very much she was actually very ticklish in her human form. She bit her lip to keep from laughing in his face, and placed a hand over one of his her mismatched eyes twinkled with mirth, "Do you make a habit of tickling folks or are you trying to be cute?"
"Your body is a bit stressed, how much sleep did you get the past few days?" Matsius looked at her "It is a good thing to actually take some rest"
Iria grinned cheekily, "Same as always four or five hours only time I slept more is during migraines." When she wasn't throwing up due to migraines. Though she had been very careful not to use her limited telepathy with anyone yet. True enough she trusted a few folks but she didn't want to hurt boundaries and definitely wanted to get permission before trying. So for the moment only thought in her head had been her own. Not even any random loud thought from anyone as of yet.
He blinks "During migraines?" Matsius smirks and walks to an injector and loads a fluid into it "Having migraines is anything but good. It is a signal from your brain to take a step back and take your rest" He turns to her an walks towards her as she placed the injector in her neck and looks at her "This will help your brain to calm down...and I am obligating you to slow down as well. I will chat with the Captain to regulate your shifts more to a standard patron. Even with the Lieutenant, I don't need another Engineer here" He was strict when it came to health.
Iria gave a wry grin, "I haven't had a migraine in well over two months, but I will try to slow down." She knew it wasn't just a matter of slowing down, she would still be restless until she got time to relax in her feline form, properly. Considering not one person on board the Hawaii knew about that yet, it was hard to fit in during her off hours.
"Avoiding the obvious are we?" He stated and looked at the panel and pointed "It shows in your blood pressure that you are tensed and residue of stress is shown. Take better care of yourself, Lieutenant, you need it and I don't want you here for medical reasons..." Matsius smiled "Other reasons are always welcome"
Iria smiled cheekily showing off one of her dimples, "Fair enough Doctor, I will try and those muffins are still yours or for the rest of Sickbay if you're going to share." She wasn't sure if he was actually flirting with her or teasing her but it was a refreshing moment over whomever the grouchy one had been over the comms.
Nodding to her "I will share them with the other nurses at the medical bay" He looked at the panel and tried to look for any odd things "Well you are clear to return towards your duties. Regarding Kosu...the Captain will inform Engineering of any new developments"
Iria nodded, "Okay thank you Doctor." She wiggled forward to the edge of the biobed then dropped to the floor, with a feline-like grace. She smiled cheekily once more before she turned towards the way out.
