Halona had sent a few hours the previous day in practicing preparing the Vulcan spice tea for the Chief Science officer, she also checked the data base on possible things that he may or not enjoy for food along with the Vulcan spice tea.

She took a chance on Sash-savas slices and a few freshly made lemon muffins from the lounge manager's kitchen. Worst case she would just end up bringing them with her when she left after leaving him his stack of paperwork. Best case was anyone's guess. She rang the chime and waited.

Tolkath had adjusted his schedule slightly and had completed his morning meditation by the time the Yeoman arrived. He remained in position on the floor at the low table in order to review the day's work schedule.

"Good morning Yeoman" He acknowledged Grayson as she entered.

Halona smiled as she entered, "Good morning to you Sir, I hope I am not interrupting your mediation this morning as well? I can arrange to come at a different time if that would be preferable?"

"This is an acceptable time" He confirmed. He detected the odor of the Spice tea and the sharp bitter tang of the Sash-Savas as soon as she came in.

Halona brought the tray over and offered him the tea before anything else, she then set the try down very gently upon the table beside him.

She stood up smoothly and waited in case he had any questions or orders for her.

"I believe I mentioned that the replicated version of Spice Tea was of poor quality." He commented.

Halona raised her eye brows slightly, "I didn't replicate that at all, Sir. I got the tea leaves from the lounge manager along with the rest of the items on the tray beside your morning paperwork. If I made the tea a bit weak I will be more careful the next time, Sir." She said lightly.

"You made this?" Tolkath enquired. He lifted the cup from the tray and inhaled a little of the steam from the cup, it smelt correct. He was intrigued and a little impressed. Brewing the drink correctly was not easy, it could be done as part of an elaborate and lengthy formal ceremony or simply for personal consumption, but either way there was an art to making Spice Tea.

He sipped a little of the liquid, it was really rather pleasant. He nodded.

"A very good first attempt Yeoman" He said. "In my home province, on Vulcan, we traditionally leave some of leaves in the cup for additional flavor and strength but this is most certainly acceptable."

He leaned forward again and inspected the food, taking a piece of the bitter Sash-Sava. He tasted it, the fruit was fresh, sharp and acidic. He nodded and set it down on the saucer, then added another slice to it.

"Again, acceptable. I do not eat muffins though but thank you. So what PaDDs do you have for me this morning?"

"Updates on schedules and requests from within the Science department. A meeting with the department heads." She replied though she made a note of his comments about her brewing of the spice tea. She would get it to his liking with enough practice she was certain.

His comments about not liking muffins were also noted, "Would you like something else with your tea in the morning since you don't eat muffins, Sir?" she asked lightly, she could bring or make any number of things along with the tea, but guessing would take months to finally get it to his preferences while asking would clear up any doubts.

"The tea and two slices of the fruit with be sufficient." Tolkath replied "Thank you Yeoman. You may carry on" Without further ado, he turned his attention to the first of the reports.

Halona nodded, "Thank you, Sir, if you need anything just let me know." She retorted lightly and then walked out of the room, out the doorway and then down the corridor, she made notes on a PaDD about his suggestions and the fruit preference along with his tea.

She had a good memory true but writing it down was a habit. The reason being her teacher told her it was better to have a written record just in case. "What happens if you injure your head and loose your memories? You really want to stake your job on months or something trying to find everything again?" Were his words and reason but she didn't mind making the notations.
