Mission: Ka Hakaka Maikaʻi - The Good Fight
Location: Security Office- USS Hawaii

With Sif now returned to Active duty, Harry sat behind his desk going through reports that had come in from XFY, He knew that after finding what they had and handed the Gorn over to Security detail that was to take him to earth for trial, Harry wondered when he was going to get some help around here when he noticed Sif perk up. He said "What is it Girl?" as the door chime buzzed.

Kevin had arrived outside the office of the Chief of Security and checked himself over one more time. It had been a bit of a rush to unpack his belongings so he could check in with his new boss. Sure that he seemed to be presentable, he reached forward and pressed the chime on the door.

"Come," he called out to release the door lock.

The door opened and Kevin stepped inside and over to where an officer sat at the desk in the room. He presented the PADD he had in his hand, saying "Ensign Kevin Kilbane reporting in Sir, I'm your new Assistant Chief of Security and Tactical, I was asked to present my transfer orders to you."

"Please take a seat Ensign," replied Harry as he took the PADD from the Ensign, As Sif rose from her position and walked over to the young man, Harry said," This is my Partner Lady Sif," as she sat down next to Kevin. He finished," Let her get to know you as you will be seeing a lot of her,"

Kevin took the offered seat saying "Thank you Sir" and as he got himself comfortable, he dropped his hand down and allowed Sif to sniff at it if she wished.

"Please Tell me about yourself," replied Harry.

"Everything about me is on the PADD Sir" Kevin replied "if you could be a little more specific perhaps I can answer."

Harry replied, " But I like hearing it from you, not some old PADD," looking back at the Ensign," It will give me a better understanding of what you can do," He continued speaking as he noticed Sif start to sniff Kevin's hand.

"Well, let me see" Kevin said, rubbing his chin with his free hand "I come from an aristocratic family background. I passed my advanced weapons course and have a communications degree. I'm a trained pilot, though the largest ship I've navigated is a Norway Class. I have a pass, albeit a minimal pass it's a pass all the same, in secondary medical studies so I can act as a field medic if needs be. I was in Starfleet Intelligence for three years, I'm an insertion specialist, but my file is classified so I can't say anything about the missions, and after returning to the Starfleet Security fold, here I am " he finished.

oO Oh great a spook in my department, Oo thought Harry looking back at him he continued in thought oO Hope he is not here to spy on me, Oo he asked," Have you mentioned this to the Captain about your piloting skills?"

"No Sir, not yet, I haven't been fortunate enough to meet the CO yet" Kevin replied.

"Then please do so Ensign," replied Harry looking back at Kevin, he asked," Would you be willing to be paired up with a K9?" as he knew that it would be better if both the chief and assistant chief both had partners.


"If the opportunity presents itself Sir, I'll happily introduce myself to the CO, however, I do realise that they're busy, so I wouldn't like to bother them" Kevin said "In regards to being paired up with a canine, not particularly Sir, I can't see the benefit for myself or the dog" he finished.

"Why do you say that?" asked Harry as Sif returned to the bed that lay in the spot that she had come from moments ago to greet Kevin. He continued, " Not only are they your Partner, but they are willing to take a hit for you," as he knew how Sif had taken a hit when the Gorn had sprayed something in her eyes.

"Not everyone looks to have a dog as a partner Sir, no offence to those that do, but for me, I prefer a being rather than a dog" Kevin replied.

"I don't doubt for a single moment that there could be benefits to having a canine partner, but by the same token, there's also benefits to having a person as a partner, and I just prefer having a person" he finished.

"Fair enough," replied Harry as he looked over at Sif who seamed like she had taken a dislike to this new officer, as he noticed that she turned her head away from looking at the Assistant chief. he continued," I think you have offended Sif," as he looked back at Kilbane, "But she will come around," he said," leaning back in his chair.

"My intention wasn't offend anyone or any animal Sir, and I'm sorry if they have taken offence, that's their choice. However, I'm entitled to my preferences, just the same as they are" Kevin answered respectfully.

"Your Dismissed," replied Harry as he rose to check on Sif.

"Yes Sir" Kevin replied, rising from his seat and taking his leave.
