» Lady Sif Takes a Bite out of Crime! | USS Hawaii Answers Distress Call

This month's feature is our very own Security K-9: Lady Sif, our resident Starfleet Working Dog.

The USS Hawaii is host to a Starfleet Security Test Program studying the utilization of Starfleet Working Dogs. Lady Sif is one of the first K-9s in the program and is handled by LTJG Harry Stevens, ATACSEC. We are happy to have them aboard, keeping us safe!

As the USS Hawaii was en route to Providence Fleet Yards (PFY), a garbled distress call came in at zero-dark thirty from the Federation Mission on Bre'el IV.

As the nearest Starfleet vessel, the Senior Staff was suddenly awoken to the change of course as the ship is speeding to find out what's happening. The USS Hawaii had just opened the mission a few months ago and is ready to pay a second visit.

The USS Hawaii now embarks on her fifth mission: Ohuna - The Secret

» Meet the Female NCOs of Hawaii Plus Awards, Promotions, and a New Mission!

This month's feature is our female Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs): Electronics Technician Chief Petty Officer (ETC) Jessica Wilson, Senior Chief Master-at-Arms (MACS) Isabella Kelly (pictured above left), and Yeoman First Class (YN1) Halona Grayson (pictured above right).

Our NCOs not only provide specialized tasks to the departments they serve, yet they also provide leadership to the enlisted crew and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) also provide leadership to the Officers they mentor.

ETC Wilson is an Electronics Technician by trade and serves as the Engineering Leading Chief Petty Officer (ENGLCPO), which means she oversees the enlisted personnel of the Engineering Department as their SNCO. Between Lieutenants Deeli Kosu (CHENG) and Iria Taltos (ACHENG), that means ETC Wilson is quite busy, ensuring the tasks of the Engineering Officers are dutifully carried out.

MACS Kelly is a Master-at-Arms by trade and serves as the Tactical/Security Leading Chief Petty Officer (TACSECLCPO), overseeing the enlisted personnel of the Tactical/Security Department as their SNCO. MACS Kelly has also been instrumental in managing the experimental K9 Division. She is often seen assisting LTJG Harry Stevens (ATACSEC), the senior officer of the department, ensuring the ship is secure and ready for battle.

YN1 Grayson is a Yeoman and serves as the Executive Department Lead Petty Officer (ADMIN). While she is not a SNCO yet, she is the Non-Commissioned Officer-in-Charge (NCOIC) of the Executive Department, overseeing the ship's paperwork. She is often seen assisting the Command Team, Commanders Tolkath (2XO/CSO) and Juan "JJ" Zamora (XO) along with Captain Akio Tachibana (CO) in executing their duties. As a Yeoman, she is trained in protocol and is very hospitable to visiting officers. YN1 Grayson is also talented in foreign languages, so she can often be seen assisting the Diplomatic Department as well. During battle, her station is in the CIC, staffing the comms.

This month's feature is Iria Taltos, our Assistant Chief Engineer who was recently promoted to Lieutenant after helping keep the Hawaii together during the Second Battle of XFY.

Taltos originally joined us from the USS Wyoming when she was left aboard the Hawaii during the Battle of Canterra when her Senior Staff hastily departed back to the Wyoming as both ships came under Gorn attack, a mistake that probably saved her from a worse fate as the Wyoming rammed the Gorn vessel and any survivors were taken POW by the Gorn and experimented upon.

Unbeknownst to many, Taltos is an Isisean, meaning she can transform into a feline, an homage to Star Trek: TOS, Season 2, Episode 26: "Assignment: Earth".

As you may remember, Taltos was also recognized by Task Force 93 as the Player of the Month for September 2018.



We look forward to the future adventures of Taltos, our resident cat engineer!

Sombra is an On-Call Therapy Animal when she is not supporting LT Amiri Aldana 365.

Recently, Sombra saw action in helping out Sickbay during the Second Battle of XFY.

In the Aftermath of the Second Battle of XFY, Hawaii suffered 5 KIA & 42 WIA. 18 of the 25 recovered POWs from the USS Wyoming were also injured.

Currently, the Hawaii is conducting repairs before making the approximately 3-week journey to Canterra IV. (OOC: We will be doing a time jump, although there are many in-transit posts brewing!)

Hawaii's orders are clear: Establish Ground Operations on Canterra IV.
