Tolkath was monitoring the linked sensor scans coming in from the Battlegroup ships, when his panel began to light up, seconds later the CIC confirmed the data.

"Captain, I have multiple contacts bearing 027 and closing" he announced.

"Confirmed on my end, sir," Jinn piped up from his station. "Reading 3 smaller craft and 1 larger craft. Four contacts total incoming."

Akio was a bit taken aback that their sensors already detected elements of the Gorn fleet.

"Verify their trajectory," Akio ordered. He was confused why these ships would be closing with the Battlegroup.

"Bearing zero-two-seven Captain." Nila answers.

Still questioning herself why she stayed on the bridge, Deeli did her job at the console and directed all damage control teams to vital locations "The DCT are standing by and ready to operate where damage is spotted." She played a bit with the energy flow "Ensign Nila, you are getting some more juice for shields."

Nila checks her station and sees the increased output to the shields. "I see that Lieutenant, thanks."

Cassidy clicked his tongue with disapproval as he watched his sensors flood with the news. "Maneuvering thrusters powered and ready; if they're small we'll take fire on the shields but I don't want to be on the back foot if they've come to dance."

"Just tell me where to point and fire," replied Harry as he looked back at Cassidy as he switched on the targeting sensors and began plotting his first firing sequences, as he knew this could get bad as quickly as anything as he continued, "Shields are raised Captain."

"Go to yellow alert," Akio ordered. They were still beyond visual range as well as the range of torpedoes. Akio was not sure what was worse... knowing that they would have to fight these ships soon or the feeling of helplessness as they approached the enemy.

"Aye sir," replied Harry as the klaxions started to flash, as Harry knew that red alert was not far away, He continued "Security is ready Sir," as he knew that the drills that had been setup were now coming to be real for the teams.

"Shields are up and sensors will keep tabs on the contacts." Nila spoke softly.

"Mr. Tolkath, you have the bridge," Akio said before departing to his ready room. The waiting was killing him and he needed to study the maps more.

"Aye Sir" Tolkath acknowledged and move to the center chair.

[CIC]

"Sir, we are detecting a lot of jamming and some of our sensors are impaired," reported an officer to the Commander.

"Try visual sensors," Juan directed, "Is there any interference over the visible spectrum? Scramble all fighters as well, tell them to prepare for supplemental reconnaissance."

"Sir?" The CIC Watch Officer asked, a Lieutenant. "We are still about half a light year away traveling at warp 6," the Lieutenant whispered to Zamora. He did not want to countermand the XO's orders publicly, yet knew he was a bit inexperienced in space tactics since he was a diplomatic officer.

"Thank you Lieutenant," Juan replied to the Watch Officer. "Keep making preparations, I want them ready to launch as soon as we drop out of warp."

"Sir, we're getting visual from long range sensors!" reported a Science Chief to Lieutenant Eriksson.

"There's some interference, but I think I can clear it up." Eriksson reported as he worked. The image on the viewscreen quickly sharpened, showing the four Gorn ships in motion. "Looks like the big one's on a different heading to the others. Attempting to extrapolate courses..." He brought a map of the system up in the corner of the viewscreen. "Looks like the three are heading towards the planet."

Sliding her hands over the console as Deeli narrows her eyes "I am getting interference onto the main systems, this might be an old glitch. Sending damage teams to it now," Deeli spoke with annoyance in her voice.
