Mission: Ne Me'e Laua Na Paio - Heroes & Villains
Location: Various
Timeline: 14 Jan 2389 (After "Settling Aboard the Station")

[ON]

[Deck 3: Senior Officers' Quarters]

Halona Grayson walked down the corridor with a very large stack of PaDD's in her hands. And some freshly brewed teas and coffees. She was starting her first official day as part of the Hawaii crew by dropping off the appropriate PaDD's of paperwork to the right person. She greeted the Captain first with a smile and a cup of tea and offered him his stack of PaDD's.

Akio was hard at work studying personnel reports, trying to get some critical staff from Starfleet Command. While he trusted his crew, he knew that some of the staffing choices were unsustainable. He heard the door open and looked up when the stack of PaDDs dropped on his desk.

"Thank," Akio paused unfamiliar with the Petty Officer wearing a red uniform. Akio did not despise enlisted crew, yet was not used to interacting with them aboard the Hawaii. "You are?"

"Halona Grayson, Captain I arrived a short time ago." she offered the cup of tea and his PaDD's.

"Oh, wonderful," Akio said as he took the tea. "This replicator has been malfunctioning lately. I put in a request to Engineering, yet I know they are busy with repairs. You are our new personnelist?" Akio asked as he started perusing the PaDDs that were dropped.

"Yes Sir, and I am filling in for the translation specialist for a few days, after that just yeoman duties unless you have another suggestion, Sir. I am always happy to help out." she said with a smile, "If you don't like that blend of tea or would rather something else along with your morning paperwork just let me know."

Akio was thankful for some help. Running a starship administratively was quite a monumental task. So much paperwork that went on behind the scenes. It was funny, it was referred to as paperwork still, even though everything was electronic.

"Great. I am not sure what connections you have to Starfleet Command. I have been talking through A1K to request more personnel. Also, can you contact HQ, I forget the name of Admiral Banda's aide, yet she wanted to set up a VTC when we reached XFY," Akio rattled off as he continued processing the PaDDs.

Halona nodded as she listened to his commentary, "Do you want the conference after you're caught up on reading or for later this afternoon?" She wasn't sure it was polite to mention a lot of her training and actual work time had been learned while working as one of her father's aides on his diplomatic ventures. She didn't like to brag and didn't want any special treatment. Which was the reason when she had applied to the administrations department she had used her mother's name.

Akio looked up at Halona. She was used to working for a superior officer, he suspected. "Whatever is most convenient for the Admiral. It is not my place to dictate her schedule. We will flex around her business," Akio directed.

"Would you like me to bring anything else besides tea and the morning paperwork for tomorrow?" She added to be ready for the next morning.

"Oolong tea is wonderful. If you can bring some orders for the transfer of additional personnel, that would be marvelous. Yet tea and paperwork is fine for now. Thank you, Y-N-1 Grayson, and welcome aboard," Akio smirked.

"Thank you Captain, I will make sure to have the tea and rest ready for you. After i get a confirmation for your conference I will let you know. In the meantime if you need anything let me know Sir." Halona said with a smile and turned to get in touch with the office of Admiral Banda so he could get his conference taken care of.

"Will do," Akio said before tackling the last of the new PaDDs.

The next person was the First officer whom she really didn't know what to bring him to drink but took a chance on a coffee of Colombian blend, and again offered a light smile of greetings as she offered the PaDD's for his attention.

Juan set down his current PADD, containing an inventory of the ship's cargo bays, and accepted the stack of new devices, followed by his drink. "Thank you..." He searched for a name, finding none he carried on with only the smallest of missed beats "...yeoman." He made a mental note to study the roster later. "Extra sugar and ice next time, if you would." He lifted the mug in his hand.

"Halona Grayson, Sir, if you would prefer a different blend I can make a note of that as well, no problem." she replied with a smile, "I haven't been aboard very long so made some guesses on what to bring with the PaDD's."

"Thank you Ms. Grayson, but I try not to be snobbish about my blend, given all the things I do to it." He gave Halona his 'I know I've been caught' grin. "These PADDs are mostly correct, and I am the one to give anything you're not sure about, but I think this one is destined for Science." he said, handing back what appeared to be a detailed description of various shield modulation patterns.

Halona blinked and blushed slightly as she took back the PaDD that she had somehow mistakenly grouped with the first officer's stack. "No problem at all, Sir, i would prefer you are happy while reading all the paperwork so if you want something in particular please let me know what I can do to make your morning go smoother."

"Noted Ms. Grayson, I'll be sure to let you know if I need anything in particular. And your efforts so far are certainly appreciated. I'll let you get back to your rounds, it looks like you have a couple more stops to make."

Halona gave another smile and nodded her head, "Aye Sir and have a pleasant morning!" She said as she headed towards the doorway. So far she was feeling very pleased with her work thus far even with the near mishap of misplaced PaDD.

"Good Luck." Juan offered before returning to his work.

The next person whom she stopped to drop off PaDD's too was the Second Officer and Chief of the Science Department. She wasn't used to making drinks for Vulcan consumption so she took a guess on offering him tea along with his PaDD's. He had more of them than the first officer which in itself wasn't unusual, but she was relieved when the majority of her morning work was completed by dropping off the PaDD's to him.

Tolkath had been half way through his morning meditation session when the Yeoman arrived unexpectedly. He was sat cross legged on the floor, contemplating the flicking flame of his meditation lamp.

He had the computer open the door and looked over at the Humanoid female Petty Officer.

She offered up a respectful "Good morning Sir."

"How may I be of assistance, Petty Officer?" He asked, an eyebrow lifting as the woman entered, deposited a number of PaDDs on his desk and brought him a steaming drink on a small tray. He eyed the drink with curiosity.

"I do not recall ordering a beverage" He said dryly.

"I took a liberty of bringing refreshments along with the morning paperwork. Sir if you would prefer a different tea or something else instead just let me know. I want to be as helpful but unobtrusive to your morning routine." She said lightly in apologitic tones she wondered if she had upset him instead.

"I see. And you are?" He asked.

"Halona Grayson, Sir. I was just assigned this morning." she said lightly, openly as she stood still.

"Very well Yeoman Grayson. I do drink tea, but that would normally be Vulcan Spice tea. Experience has shown that the replicator is incapabale of producing it to a suitable quality. I therefore make it myself." He nodded towards a Vulcan tea caddy, teapot and cups on a shelf.

He noted the Yeoman appeared a little unsure of herself when he did not take the tea from the tray and continued. "However, I have found that the replicator is capable of producing an acceptable Earth tea, Lapsang Souchong. The smoked flavor is not unpleasant and that would be an appropriate alternative for morning consumption."

Halona nodded as she made note of his preferences she would take some time later to practice with a set similar to his to make his preferred Vulcan Spice tea. She was't about to risk breaking something by touching an unfamiliar tea caddy, pot and cups. knowing he was willing to accept, Lapsang Souchong as well left open an alternative so there would be less chance of his getting bored with the routine. Though she had not met a Vulcan yet whom admitted to such a thing. "Will you require anything else Sir?"

"Not at this time Yeoman, thank you" Tolkath left Grayson to show herself out and returned to his meditation.

Halona turned and walked out making mental notes as she walked. After the doorway nclosed behind her she gave a small sigh of relief and headed to the lift. There were only two people left to deliver PaDD's to but they each only had a very few not a numerous stack each. She wondered briefly how many hours were lost to the three men in command due to such amounts of paperwork to go over.
