Settling Aboard the Station

[Xavier Fleet Yard Station: Deck 20 Operations Briefing Room 2]
A young Lieutenant clad in red was ready to address the room.
"Welcome to XFY. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to assign visiting quarters due to the extensive damage and lack of quarters we currently have aboard. Also, to keep traffic down, we kindly ask that you only use these transit areas," a map pulled up that highlighted specific corridors. "This will allow repair crews unfettered access to damaged areas. We do ask you to avoid damaged areas for your safety. Are there any questions so far?" the Lieutenant paused.
Again, Akio was astonished that so much of the station had been damaged and not fully repaired.
Tolkath observed the displayed data. Yet again the amount of damage caused by the Gorn incursion appeared disproportionate to the number of vessels involved. Whatever weaponry they had developed, it seemed to be of a much more destructive capacity than previously known.
Arthur walked in, Mo'Tagh on his heels. He slipped into his seat in the front row, feeling a bit out of place. Most senior officers were junior lieutenants, and he was one of two Ensigns running a department.
Cassidy, at the front row, shifted his feet to one side as the Targ came in beside the new Operations Chief to give the beastie a little bit more space. He was happy to assume the creature was perfectly behaved to be allowed to roam, but didn't fancy testing its playful side with his ankles.
Juan, seated near the back, made note of the late arrivals.
Harry entered the briefing room with Lady Sif at his side and headed towards an empty chair and sat down as Lady Sif took her spot next to him.
Iria walked in just after Harry and his K-9 partner he dubbed Lady Sif, during the briefing she had attended recently, she took a seat in the back a few seats down from the first officer. She offered up a cheekily playful smile to him, as she sat back to listen to the station's Lieutenant.
Dran walked in, and gave a nod to Zamora, slipping into his seat in the first row. He was holding a glass of fine wine, sipping at it.
Juan looked back at Dran through narrowed eyes for an instant before returning the greeting.
Dran smiled at him, and knew in the back of his mind he was going to hear about it later.
Akio saw the new Chief Diplomatic Officer walk in with a glass of wine and saw Zamora's reaction which was unusual for the charismatic senior officer. At least Akio had good judgment in him. How Dran got aboard the Hawaii, Akio was still guessing. He made a mental note to have a one-on-one with the junior officer. After all, he was now part of the senior staff with Zamora's promotion.
Harry asked "And what of the Security detachment here?" as he knew that would be a priority for any station, even one that was under repair.
"We've been stretched pretty thin, so your cooperation with designated travel corridors are appreciative. If you do have a security situation, Lieutenant Yobura is your point of contact," the briefing officer answered, not sure if it sufficiently answered the Ensign's question.
Cassidy tilted a finger at the Lieutenant conducting their briefing. "Are there actually any leisure facilities left running on Xavier? No disrespect, but we've come here on a Sovereign. I'm sure we're all happy to be put to work to help, but if we'd just be underfoot then no doubt the crew can stay on the Hawaii while off-duty?" His glance did go to Tachibana as he spoke, checking the captain's plans.
"While the promenade is in a varied point of recovery, some shops are actually open for business depending on their owners while the lounge is also open for the crew still. We do have a few holodecks that are operational, although I'm sure yours aboard the Hawaii are sufficient," noted the briefing officer.
"Since we are going into war, we do not have quite the leisure amenities, so a promenade, even if not fully functioning, may be good respite. Liberty will be granted for most personnel, although we will have various salvage projects we are assisting XFY with during duty hours," the Captain answered the burning question he sensed from Cassidy on behalf of the crew.
Iria raised her eyebrows softly but kept quiet for the moment if she needed to offer up her leisure time to help the station she didn't mind that much. Iria's plans had been testing some new recipes and maybe a few other ideas. The station was in sad shape and her plans were easy to move around. Unless someone or something else said otherwise.
Jenny shifted uncomfortably in her seat, the briefing seemed to stretch on and on as everybody tried to figure out what to do next. she wondered what the point of holding this meeting even was if they hadn't known if they were going to be staying on the station at all.
Iria bit her lip yeah it looked like liesure time was taking a back burner still it wouldn't be all bad. She would be working with the station's personnel to get things back in order and if there was time left afterwards. She could still try at least one holo-deck visit and maybe try the cheesecake recipe she wanted to test in the kitchen.
"If you have any questions, feel free to ask," the young Lieutenant nodded to Akio before departing.
Akio stood up and addressed the crew, "Please, take some time to rest as we will be heading back to the front soon. I need Lieutenant Radun to stay behind, everyone else is dismissed!"
